On-line Creativity accelerated by Off-line Event

A long time ago…
A long time ago, when I was a five-year old boy, I used to write short stories on my Grandma’s old-fashioned typewriter. Enthousiastic, interested, but seveal attempts didn’t really grow into a coherent writing production.

…and not so long ago…
Somewhat shorter ago, I used all the on-line networks that there are. And I can say, there are many! I have chosen some to focus on and realized that these could be a great platform to refresh my writer’s ambitions. Again, several attempts, but no serious results or progress.

…and any future?
If it did not work off-line in the old days, and on-line nowadays, how was there any rescue possible to unleash the creativity which was obviously in me?

Yes, Thank You!
And then it became 11th June, 2009. A little voice in my head made me to enroll the Social Media Event in The Netherlands. And it was great! This off-line event inspired me enormously because of the great speakers which presented practical content. WordPress, LinkedIn, Twitter, everything presented in a very down to earth manner. And many likeminded people that I met. Normally, an event provides me inspiration for a week, this time the excitement showed signs of fading away after four weeks. And guess what: this was exactly what I needed to bring my creativity on-line!

Thank you Laura Babeliowsky and Erno Hannink for organizing this event. And please count me in for 2010’s edition.

Hi Pieter, and thanks for your entry in our contest! I can’t say I started typing at 5-years – it was more like 16 for me, when I took a typing class in high school. Little did that teacher know how much of a difference he’s made for me!

Thanks again, and good luck!
Regards,
Terry
